See you in Santiago!

Saint James’ Way 2026

Art, History, Culture & Gastronomy

St. James’ Way still preserves the cultural and cosmopolitan splendour accumulated over the centuries. The medieval pilgrimage route that forged the foundations of modern Europe continues to attract thousands of people every year.

Reaching the end of the Camino de Santiago is a unique experience, a moment that walkers never forget. For those who make it to Santiago under their own steam, the reward of the Compostela, a diploma issued by the Pilgrim's Office to certify that the route has been done with a Christian sense of purpose, awaits them . It is awarded to pilgrims who cover 100 kilometres on foot or on horseback, or to those who cover 200 kilometres by bicycle. If we decide to do it on the French Way, it would be enough to start from Sarria and from Tui or Baiona for the Portuguese Way. Get ready for a pilgrimage experience you won't forget!

Unique and unforgettable experience

Pilgrims have flocked to Galicia since the Middle Ages, drawn to the challenge of reaching the end of the Camino de Santiago, and to Finiesterre, the place that, at that time and up until the Renaissance, was considered to be the end of the known world. Even before the idea of Europe was born, the Camino was laying its foundations through the exchange of knowledge and culture that flowed through the West and converged on Compostela, creating a cultural and social network that sowed the seeds of today's sense of European identity.
